At Pratt, I dragged my poems on the desktop
then tripped on ‘delete’ on the USB prop
and opened the poems in Microsoft Word:
THE FILE’S CORRUPTED, DAMAGED… — and I freaked,
the poems were gone, my windows were blurred
‘No, no, no, no…!’ my heart suddenly creaked,
and the pressure of my blood sunk very low
like for someone so dear unexpectedly lost;
and where does one go at the end of one’s show?
will God bring us back, his memory exhaust?
The file was still there, its content not seen,
a sentient feeling kept in between:
                the IT Support, his Recover Text tool
                from Any File, brought it back, what a jewel!
